RNIB Christian Group visitLearning at Work: Christian Question Time
RNIB Christian Group

On a Thursday in May each year is Learning at Work (LaW) Day. The RNIB Peterborough Christians at Work Group wanted to contribute a session this year. We wondered about doing an Alpha taster session, but in the end decided to do a Christian Question Time (just like on the telly!).

.
There are usually 6 or 7 of us who meet fortnightly at lunchtime, to think about Christian perspective on workplace issues, fellowship and to pray. Over the last few months we have been planning for the LaW Day session - thinking about the format of the meeting, who would be on the panel, what questions might be asked, whom could we invite, praying that God would bring people along. The session was only 30 minutes long, so there wasn't time for lots of questions, or to go into great detail. Our hope and prayer was to point people towards knowing Jesus.

LaW - RNIB - pannel - May09We decided that there would be a chairman (Steve) and four panellists (Ronna, Dave, Gary, and Norman)

There were seven people in the audience, one was a non-Christian, and one was a Christian who was looking to grow in faith and find a church.

.
Some questions had been submitted in advance, others arose from the discussions on the day.

.

.

Questions included

"If God exists, why does that matter to me?" "What difference has your faith in God made to your life? " " Is the bible true - hasn't science disproved it?" "Why are Christians uncomfortable standing up for their faith?"
laW - RNIB - audience- May09
We don't know the full response to the session, but have prayed and believe that God has used this to raise awareness of the Christians at Work group, planted seeds in people's lives, and encouraged people. We know that there is rejoicing in heaven when one person comes to faith in Jesus.

We hope that the group will continue to grow in faith, and be able to do more in and for RNIB.
