Facing Redundancy
I was placed at risk of redundancy last September, after a period of uncertainty. In addition, I was elected to be a Representative of a group of colleagues who were also at risk of redundancy, because we were not in a union. This took a considerable amount of time, going to meetings and providing a degree of counselling for them.
I did put in some applications, but on three occasions I was asked why I was spending so much time helping others and so little on my own work prospects. I was able to say quite bluntly that the Lord was looking after me, but my other at-risk colleagues didn’t have anyone to look after them.
Then they started getting re-deployed and not me! Eventually, another very suitable area of work opened up for me in February and I am happy with this work.
I thank my Heavenly Father for helping me to find other work whilst looking after others, and maintaining a witness to His goodness. |
