He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:29-31 (NIV)
This is one of the most uplifting verses in the Bible. It promises hope and a future where we soar above our circumstances.
But despite this, work related stress continues to be a significant cause of illness and disease and is known to be linked with high levels of sickness absence, staff turnover and other indicators of organisational underperformance, including human error, within the UK.
In response to this Transform Work UK is producing a booklet by Dr Adrian Miles, that focuses primarily upon managing workplace stress and suggests that it is not necessarily the pressures that we encounter in the workplace which cause us stress, but rather how we manage them.
The booklet will be available from early August – to find out more and how you can pre-order, follow this link.
Have a great week in His service
