Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child

Workplace groups or individual Christians are always looking for ideas to bring good news into their areas of work. Some activities are so simple that anybody could implement them, but make a tremendous difference.

One of these activities is 'Operation Christmas Child'. Transform Work UK is delighted to partner with Samaritan's Purse in an initiative that can bring incredible joy to children in need oversees, AND help transform your own workplace.

The idea is simple: to pack shoeboxes with a variety of small gifts either for a boy or a girl. These are then collected and despatched to various children in need all over the world.

Here is an extract from the Operation Christmas Child 'ideas for the workplace' section
"Vin Lycett explains how BT in Wolverhampton is doing Operation Christmas Child this year:

“We’ve been organising Operation Christmas Child for over 10 years now and it’s become a real part of the fabric here in our offices. People love it and join in. Last year we did 92 boxes! We enjoy knowing that children around the world are receiving a present at Christmas because of our efforts.”

Vin is keen to provide tips on how to raise awareness, build support and organise Operation Christmas Child within your workplace. If you would like to be put in touch with her, send an email to info@samaritans-purse.org.uk.
